Lesley Batchelor OBE
Lesley Batchelor OBE is a champion of UK exporters, with a powerful track record in enhancing the international performance of hundreds of businesses.
From a blue-chip background, she worked as director general of the Institute of Export (IOE) for 12 years promoting professionalism and the need for qualifications and support for businesses.
Experience includes:
- Co-Chair of the Bribery Act 2010 Scrutiny expert panel working with DFID and the Government.
- Anti-corruption Champion
- Advising on APPG Advisory Panels on Trade & Investment and Manufacturing and Select Committees supporting SMEs
- ICC/WTO MSME trade negotiation.
- WTO Alliance & Trade & Investment Committee.
Lesley now runs Exportbootcamps.com an ICC and ILM accredited training company with a real difference. Using years of experience teaching and training businesses owners and managers to trade competently internationally, the BootCamps approach guarantees engagement and results.
She also acts as a board advisor to Bridgehead International Agency and Open Borders Direct. With invaluable expertise in intellectual property, global licensing and marketing Lesley was awarded CBI Real Business First Woman in Business Services and CEO of the year from Trade Association Congress in 2015.
Lesley is often sought out for comment on Brexit and international trade issues, writing thought leadership pieces for many journals, TV and radio stations.
Arne Mielken MBA, MIEx Grad, DWCCR
Arne is a Senior Trade Specialist for the European Union monitor and provide updates on EU trade regulations in the field of customs, trade and export controls. He is also a Vice President of the Institute of Export & International Trade. Having worked for Grant Thornton and Deloitte’s Customs Duties & Export Controls team, two of the world’s leading organisations of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms. As a specialist in the field of EU customs, trade & export control legislation & policy, he advised clients on customs & international trade matters and complex supply chains. Working with the EU in Brussels for over a decade, Arne continues to be actively involved in the development of EU customs policy & legislation (Union Customs Code and E-Customs) and publishes articles in leading European foreign trade journals.
Holly Tonge BSc, MBA, MIEx Grad
Holly has worked in international trade for almost twenty years, currently working as a specialist and trainer in customs authorisations, trade procedures and duty & excise suspension regimes. One of her main areas of speciality is Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), having successfully guided a large number of businesses through this process. Holly’s background is in the freight forwarding and customs clearance sector, which provided her with extensive experience of imports, exports, transit, warehousing and customs compliance. In addition, Holly lived in Africa for a year gaining international experience whilst designing a nationwide supply chain for the health sector in Rwanda. In 2018 Holly established her own very successful business providing customs consulting services for a number of businesses in sectors such as food & beverage, retail, automotive and chemical.
Corinne Nabavi
Corinne Nabavi MIEx Grad, has 45 years’ experience working in different business sectors setting up controls and procedures relating to Customs, Import & Export compliance. A rare person that has extensive experience in implementing Customs computer systems for importing, exporting, warehousing and IP for direct reporting to HMRC. She sits on several Consultative committees and is a committee member of ACITA.
Since 2017 Corinne has been using up her own Customs Consultancy business providing consulting and training on Import, Export, Customs Special Procedures and Preferential Origin. As an independent Customs & Brexit expert, she provides advice and ‘hands-on’ support to importers, and exporters enabling them to assess and understand the impact of trade policy and Brexit on their International Trade business. Comprehensive advice on Customs procedures, tariff classification, preferential origin, Customs broker reviews, duty relief schemes and Customs Audits.
Richard Bartlett
Richard has worked in logistics for over 26 years running his own forwarding business until 2016 when he set up ‘Export Unlocked’ offering Consultancy and Advice in International Trade, helping businesses Export. An enthusiast for all things to do with world trade, Richard understands the many aspects of both importing and exporting. Using his vast experience, he is now working closely with Greater Manchester Chamber, Halton Chamber, ICC Academy in Singapore and The Institute of Export & International Trade delivering training in Brexit Compliance, Incoterms, Rules of Origin and commodity codes, understanding Exporting / Importing, Customs Compliance. Richard’s work has taken him around the world. He has presented in Genève for the World Trade Organisation (WTO), in Doha for Qatar Development Bank and North and South of Ireland with Trade Ireland giving him valuable insights and a strong understanding of how different markets operate.
